Baby Liam Updates :)

Baby Liam will be here before we know it, and we are sooooooooooooo excited to meet our little man! :)  Here are some updates on Liam Andrew and my pregnancy...
  • I am exactly 33 weeks today!
  • Approximately 7 more weeks until we meet our sweet baby boy!
  • Liam is currently in a breech position... not ideal, so hopefully he decides to dive head down soon!
  • At 30 weeks, Liam weighed 3 pounds 13 ounces and was in the 90th percentile for his weight.
  • He will be measured again at our 34 week ultrasound.
  • I failed the 1 hour glucose test, but passed the 3 hour.  I guess I'm not "technically" diabetic, BUT my doctor is having me follow the gestational diabetes diet because women who fail the one hour test are more likely to have large babies... and Liam's already on the large side, sooooooooooo maybe this will slow his weight gain down a little! ;)
  • We were officially released from the high-risk OB in February!!!  Baby Liam took on fifths disease and proved to be one tough little guy!  He has proven to be perfectly healthy!!  We will be allowed to finish the monitoring and the rest of the pregnancy with my regular OB! :)
  • We are busy getting ready for our little man's debut!! :)  Lots to do around here!!
  • I can't wait to put some of our gifts/purchases to use for our sweet boy:
Momma is loving, "I'm the Little Brother!"

I'm loving these sweet gowns!

Aden & Anais Swaddles for my sweet baby!

So excited about this Moby Wrap!

Please continue to keep Liam in your prayers! We pray for a continued healthy pregnancy, safe delivery, and a healthy baby!  We'd also appreciate prayers for a smooth transition for Connor as he becomes a big brother! :)

Brothers! :)

The closer Liam's arrival gets, the more exicted I'm getting about having two adorable, sweet boys!  I'm so excited about watching my boys grow up  together!!  There's just something about the bond of brothers that is so special!  To celebrate the "brotherhood" headed our way (in just 7 short weeks!), Momma feels obligated to purchase anything she runs into with "brother" on it! lol  I can't help it!  Luckily almost all of this was on sale or was a gift from sweet friends!

Liam's loot! :)

Connor's loot! :)

This is nothing, though! Just wait until you see what my two boys are going to wear at the hospital when Liam's born!  It's a surprise though, so you have to wait!! hehe ;)

The Elmo Obsession

To say that my child is obsessed with a furry, red, little monster would be an understatement.  He is indeed fascinated with Elmo! But who wouldn't be?  I have to admit, I quite enjoy our Sesame Street marathons!  To be perfectly honest, Elmo is the reason why my 19 month old already knows half of the alphabet and can name many animals! I didn't realize what a great show Sesame Street was until this recent phase in my toddler's life, but I'm loving how much the show teaches!  You definitely won't see that with Sponge Bob! ;) I also can't fail to mention that Elmo has been our saving grace on occasion in church, at bedtime, in the store, and even with brushing teeth!!! So, here's a tribute to our friend, Elmo, in pictures...

Even cousins Colby and Tyler love Elmo! lol

These pictures don't really do this Elmo phase justice! lol  We had to have an Elmo toothbrush, Elmo books, Elmo DVDs, Elmo clothes,  and Elmo socks! We talk about Elmo in the morning when we wake up and when we go to bed! Baby Elmo has to be in bed with Bubby each night for him to go to sleep.  Sometimes when we wake up in the middle of the night, Momma and Daddy even hear someone asking for Elmo over the baby monitor! lol  We have to watch Elmo music videos on YouTube, and we just LOVE the Elmo Alphabet app on the ipad!

I feel it's only appropriate to begin planning an Elmo-themed 2nd birthday for our little Elmo fan!  Momma is quite excited about party planning! Thanks to Pinterest, here are a few ideas that I'm loving at the moment...

Links to these awesome ideas can be found on my Pinterest party planning board. :)

Needless to say, I'm really enjoying this phase with my little Bubby! What's your little one into these days??

Be my Valentine!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!! ( A little late!)

We celebrated Connor's 2nd Valentine's day this year!  Our sweet boy is a BIG Elmo fan, so what better way to celebrate his love for Elmo than in brand new Elmo pajamas!!!

Our Bubby really enjoyed his Valentine's Day loot!! :)
He REALLY likes his book, Good Night Gorilla! Its one of my favorites too! ;)

James and I also celebrated our 12th Valentine's Day together this year!!  We had planned a date night to go out to eat and to the movies to see The Vow, but with both of my parents in the hospital at the time, we had to take a rain check!  Hopefully we get to go soon!!!  I'm REALLY excited about seeing this movie, and just as excited to have our first date night in a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time! :)

Connor James is 19 months!!

My BABY is 19 months old!  AND in 2 months I will be updating you each month on TWO baby boys!  Time is flying by!
Daddy and Connor... not even a day old!

With that said, here are 19 wonderful things I want to remember about my wonderful baby boy at this age:

1.  You have learned how to climb on and off the couch by yourself without any help!

2.  You LOVE your bath!  You run to your room and get out your towel and washcloth from the bottom drawer of your dresser and then stand outside the bathroom yelling, "BATH!!" at us!  You LOVE to use your tub crayons and don't like to sit!  You also DON'T like to get your pajamas and diaper on after your bath! You try to run away!!! I think you enjoy the freedom of being naked! lol

Here you are in the bathtub pointing out your ears!! :)

3.  You are still currently in the middle of an Elmo obsession.

4.  You are obsessed with the ipad.  You call it "Ga-ga."  I'm not sure how you came up with that name for it, but we definatley know what you are asking for!  Your current favorite app is the Elmo ABC's app.  You are actually learning your letters!!! It's so neat to watch you!

5.  You are eating with a fork now!

6.  In fact, we are just happy that you are EATING!!  You've been a very picky eater lately, but you are getting so much better?  The solution? You really like to have your own plate and utensils!  We also strip you down to your diaper and let you feed yourself!  You make a HUGE mess, but you eat your food!

7.  You had your 18 month check-up since my last post!  You got to see your good buddy Dr. Kamber!  You were 30 lbs and 34 inches tall!  You were at exactly the 90th percentile for weight, height, and head circumference!  Dr. Kamber said you weren't a chunky baby, you are just a BIG boy! lol

8.  You LOVE to read!

You climbed in your closet and found a stash of my books from when I was little! :)

9.  You are a climber! You can turn anything into something to climb on!!

10.  You think Momma and Daddy's bedroom is so awesome, for some reason! lol  Normally we keep the door closed because it isn't as baby proofed as we'd like for it to be.  You sure do think its a treat, though, to go in there and play.  You like to lay in bed with us and watch tv.  You also like to dig through our drawers! lol

I caught you standing outside our bedroom door trying to get in!! lol
You knew Daddy was in there sleeping and wanted to go get him!

11.  You have learned some of your colors!!! (Thanks to Fruit Loops!)  You know yellow, red, orange, blue, green, and purple!  If I ask you where the blue Fruit Loops are, you can point them out for me!! You can do this for all of the colors of Fruit Loops!!! Momma was pretty excited!  Next, we'll work on saying the color words!

12.  You are talking up a storm!!! Some of your new and "favorite" words this month:  Ryan, up, teeth, cheerio, Laci, remote, wa-wa (water), jacket, shoes, nugget, blankie, eyes, nose, truck, belly, ears, cracker, and phone! There are many more, but its very hard to keep up with you!!

13.  You are starting to say sentences!!!!!!!  So far, you've said, "I'm done!"  and "I shut door!" :) Very exciting!!!

14.  You are attempting to count.  You like to play with a set of cup coasters we have.  You lay them out in a row and I count them for you ( 1 to 5) and you count with me! :)

15.  You love to point out body parts! lol You point out ears, eyes, noses, teeth, toes, feet, hands, and bellies!! Here you are trying to get Momma's belly!! lol

16.  You are such a helper! You love to help Momma and Daddy with everything!  The other day, I was folding laundry, and you came and grabbed a pair of your pajamas and ran off.  I thought you were going to stash them in your toys like you used to do, but you were in your room putting them in the pajama drawer of your dresser!  It was so sweet!  If you see a door open in the house, you say, "Uh oh!!!" and run to shut it.  Each morning you see daddy's wallet laying on his nightstand, and you grab it and run to him saying, "Daddy!!!" like you think he is going to forget it! lol

17.  You are REALLY into cars and trucks right now!  Everytime you see one, you yell, "Car!!!" or "Truck!!" I've been thinking about how to give you an updated "big boy" room for your birthday this summer.  Here's some of my inspiration so far:

18.   You are becoming a better sleeper.  Now that you are officially down to one nap per day, you have been sleeping much better at night! You typically only wake up looking for your paci once or twice, which is a HUGE improvement!!! :)

19.  You now give hugs AND kisses!  And we can't get enough of them from our sweet boy!

Connor,
We tell you all the time what a gift you are from God, but it never seems like enough! You are without a doubt the best thing that ever happened to your Momma and Daddy, and have given us such a new and BIG purpose in life!  We love you to the moon and back a million times! We can't wait to see what all you will teach us in the next month!

Love,
Momma and Daddy

Must Love Books

I found this pin on Pinterest and LOVE it!

Pinned Image

How true!?!  If there is only one thing that we have done well as parents, it is instilling a love of reading in our son.  It makes me so happy to see Connor love and enjoy books.  He loves for you to read to him, and he loves to explore books on his own.  I hope that he always loves to explore and escape to new worlds through the pages of great books,  I hope that he always lights up when we go in a bookstore, and I hope that he pulls his future children onto his lap to enjoy a good book! ;)

Happy Reading!!!
